About the pilates studio
Skin Society brings you the best resources to take care of your body and mind in a calm, welcoming atmosphere with an open peaceful view, at our Skin Society Studio. We offer Pilates classes (Mat; Reformer I and II) as well as private sessions, in addition to Barre and Aerial Yoga. TThe studio is equipped with six Allegro 2 reformers and towers, six exo chairs, sixteen antigravity hammocks and two level barres. We also offer a private room with one reformer-Cadillac-trapeze and a combo chair to meets your fitness needs from all sides. Our trainers are certified and highly passionate and willing to help you reach your goals, down to the last detail.

It puts emphasis on alignment, breathing, developing a strong core, and improving coordination and balance. The core, consisting of the muscles of the abdomen, low back, and hips, is often called the "powerhouse" and is thought to be the key to a person's stability. It is a safe, sensible exercise system that will help you look and feel your very best. It teaches body awareness, good posture and easy, graceful movement. Pilates also improves flexibility, agility and economy of motion. It can even help alleviate back pain.
Our Pilates Classes
Pilates Reformer I & II
The Pilates equipment in our studio includes; Reformer (Allegro II), Tower and the exo chair. The difference from the Mat Class is that on the mat we use our own body weight, as for Reformers, the springs and resistance are introduced which needs more stability and control. There are two levels of classes in our studio. The Reformer I works with more easy positions and exercises for beginners, slower rhythm and less resistance. The Reformer II is faster, with intermediate exercises that need more strength and control. Always check with the trainer who can recommend you the best class for you level. Noting if you are new to Pilates, you will be advised to take 3 to 6 fundamental classes. Later, a mix between mat and equipment is the best you can do to complement the need of your body.
In this class we will learn the principles of Pilates, the different positions using the mat and the wall only. It is a prerequisite class to learn the proper technique. It needs a lot of concentration. It is a body mind workout and t it is very important before starting any Pilates mat or equipment classes. Knowing the right technique and doing the exercise in the right way will help you improve your workout, prevent injuries and allow the muscles to work 50% more. Usually, you will need average 4 fundamental classes to have a good start.
Pilates Mat Class
In this class, we will go through a series of Pilates exercises on the mat. The main focus is the core or called the powerhouse (includes the abdominal, back and hips muscled). Other muscles will definitely work adding lengthening and flexibility in the proper alignment. Some props might be introduced to the class like the magic circle, elastic band or arc barrel. All levels are welcome as the exercises can always be modified.
The barre workout is a nice combination between ballets, pilates, yoga exercises. It blends cardio, strength training, flexibility, balance and core conditioning in a total body workout that targets the hips, glutes, abs, back and arms. The props used are mainly the Barre, balls and bands. All levels can join the class, no prerequisite classes is needed. But definitely a background of Pilates and Yoga will help understanding the exercises.
Aerial yoga is a hybrid type of yoga combining traditional yoga poses, Pilates, and dance with the use of a hammock. The hammock acts like a swing supporting the hips for both forward bends and backbends. Difficult mat-based yoga postures may prove easier to perform through aerial yoga, while the hammock's movement further contributes to adding variety to the aerial workout. Aerial yoga, by facilitating bending and stretching of the whole body during exercise, muscles and joints will be strengthened and rehabilitated, and the spine decompressed as the body hangs freely. Yoga in general, and aerial yoga in particular is promoted as benefiting emotional, psychological and spiritual health.
Private Pilates Sessions
It is a one to one session where the client is alone with the trainer. Taking into consideration the weak and strong points or any specific injury, the trainer will offer more attention with more details and a special care to our client.
Meet The Instructors
Ghida has a Physical education degree and has been teaching Pilates since 2015. She is Pilates mat certified by Balance Body and Pilates apparatus certified by Pilates Point Academy. She also has an MA in sports management. Ghida is committed to her work, and she always makes sure that every single detail is understood by her clients.
Lara is a motivated Pilates instructor knowledgeable in advanced training techniques and specialized in classical Pilates. She enjoys inspiring others to improve wellness and commit to long-term health and fitness goals.
Lisette is certified by Balance Body since 2013 as Pilates instructor. She is also a certified Barre instructor. Lisette comes from a dance and performance background and is always interested in the human body and its connection to the mind. She is very passionate about her work and believes that everyone can achieve more than what they think.
Jinan is a Yoga Alliance certified Aerial Yoga instructor! She is an expert in Aerial Yoga, Aerial Play and Aerial Dance classes.
